Power Regulation
Drawing on international experience and decades of capability, NCL understands the unique balance when managing or setting industry and regulatory drivers. NCL has been involved in the reform of different power industries in the Asia-Pacific and African regions and has been providing various services in relation to the rate setting process of utilities in different jurisdictions. We have extensive experience in providing advisory services to energy regulators include the areas of policy development; tariff setting, modelling; performance review of utilities, development of methods to set network performance targets for purposes of improving power quality; review of asset management plans; efficiency benchmarking of regulated entities; review of utilities; capital; operating expenditure programmes; auditing asset valuations; and capability development which includes conducting training sessions and regulatory workshops. Our breadth of experience also allows us to provide utilities the necessary guidance on a broad spectrum of regulatory aspects. The objective of these services is to aid the utilities in improving their efficiency in order to not only meet regulatory requirements but to ultimately allow the customers to benefit from the utility improved performance.
